MARKET INTELLIGENCE

The Market Intelligence Unit has over a decade of experience in providing professional, reliable and cost effective market research solutions for private and public sector businesses. Market research services offered by the team include destination benchmarking, mystery shopping, conversion research, economic impact studies and monitoring surveys. We operate the region’s largest occupancy survey, moderate focus groups and produce a regular newsletter to provide tourism industry professionals with the latest trends. Our customer profiling software is essential part of market feasibility projects by providing drive time profiles and mapping studies. We also have one of the largest tourism libraries in the region providing contextual information for tourism business development.

The YTB Market Intelligence team were commissioned through LEADER + funding to conduct a Visitor Profiling study, across the six East Riding market towns of Driffield, Pocklington, Market Weighton, Howden, Hornsea and Withernsea, using YTB’s TARGET Tourism Marketing profile system.

This study provided a wealth of information on visitors to these 6 towns and the full reports and results can be found. These reports also show how the TARGET Tourism Marketing system can be used to help with development, marketing and promotional initiatives through understanding who your visitors are, where they come from, and what their interests and hobbies are.

The Market Intelligence unit’s tourism information bulletin designed for tourism professionals who need and want to stay well informed about the developments in the UK tourism market. Each edition will focus on one specialism in order for readers to build up a library of reference material. The current edition looks at ICT skills within the tourism sector in Yorkshire and then compares the findings with England.

Combining the expertise and resources of the YTB, this publication aims to build up a wealth of market information including facts, commentary, forecasts, statistics and analysis, together with examples of good practice.
